As the environment of technology is constantly changing, I want to share some tools that you can use to improve security at your office and abroad.
Enable Multi-Factor Authentication
The first step in keeping unwanted access out of your data, is to stop them at the door. Multi-Factor Authentication requires your users to identify themselves via text message to their phone and/or an authentication application such as the Microsoft Authentication App. In most cases, a special code is sent through either of the two methods and the user will need to enter that code while logging into their accounts. Most cloud application providers now offer Multi-Factor Authentication as a means to improve security measures on your accounts with them.
Employee Training
Empowering your staff about security basics and knowledge on how to spot email scams, phishing attempts and other attempts at intrusion. Your staff is on the front lines when it comes to the communication aspect of the business and helping them protect their own smaller environments will assist in keeping the whole organization safe.
